On the night of August 11th, 2023 to August 12th, 2023, four road users in the Ludwigshafen 1 police station’s service area were noticed because they were driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. At around 10:30 p.m., a 50-year-old man from Altrip was driving his car on Raschigstrasse in Ludwigshafen. During a traffic stop, the driver stated that he had consumed alcoholic beverages before starting the journey. A breath alcohol test carried out showed a value of 0.92 per mille. The breath alcohol test, which can be used in court, showed a value of 0.35 mg/l. Administrative offense proceedings were initiated against the driver. Another car driver was noticed by the officers in the early morning hours around 2:00 a.m. on Rheinuferstrasse, driving in serpentine lines and driving at excessive speeds. During a traffic stop, the 28-year-old driver smelled alcohol on his breath. A test carried out showed a value of 1.03 per mille. A blood sample was taken from the 28-year-old man. His driver’s license was confiscated and criminal proceedings were initiated against him for drunk driving. A 22-year-old man also drove in serpentine lines on Maudacher Strasse in Ludwigshafen around 4 a.m. He also had a clear smell of alcohol on his breath. A test carried out gave him a result of 1.10 per mille. A blood sample was also taken from him and criminal proceedings were initiated for drunken driving. At 5:00 a.m., a police patrol noticed a cyclist on his vehicle on Maudacher Straßer, who was also driving in serpentine lines. During a traffic stop, the 37-year-old driver showed clear signs of failure, which could be attributed to previous consumption of alcohol. A blood sample was also taken from him. He is also facing an investigation into the fact that he was riding a bicycle while under the influence of alcohol.
