Multiple Car Accidents Cause Injuries and Road Closures on E18, E6, and Oppdal – Updates and Rescue Operations

Four people are slightly injured after a traffic accident on the E18 near Askim. A man in his 20s with an unknown degree of injury has been flown to Ullevål hospital. The person was awake when he was picked up.

The road is completely blocked in both directions. Two cars involved.

– One of these cars had knocked down a sign that hangs over all four fields. This has fallen down and hit car number two, says operations manager Finn Håvard Aas.

There is major material damage to the tunnel technical equipment, and the road will probably be closed for a long time, according to the Swedish Traffic Agency.

– First we will take care of those who are injured on the spot. We will then start with clean-up and this will be done in consultation with Mesta and the road authorities.

Aas says that they do not know how long E18 will be closed.

Traffic in the direction of Oslo can drive via the on- and off-ramps and down the E18 again. Detour is the sign for traffic in the direction of Sweden.

Severely injured after an accident at Skatval

The E6 north of Stjørdal was closed at Skatval due to an accident. Two cars and five people are said to be involved in the accident.

Three are taken to the nearest doctor’s office for a check-up, while two people are taken to St. Olav’s hospital. They are probably badly injured, but the extent of the damage is unknown.

The accident is said to have happened at the turn at Skatval church.

The police say there are extremely difficult driving conditions at the site. A car has probably skidded and crossed into the oncoming lane.

Frontal collision in Oppdal

Eight people are involved in the accident. All are taken to St. Olav’s hospital by ambulance for examination. The degree of damage is unknown.

All those involved were conscious. Just after half past one, traffic began to flow as normal again.

– It is extremely smooth. It’s so slippery that it’s difficult to walk there, says police operations manager Else Stokkebø.

It is possibly a head-on accident, where it is uncertain what the cause of the accident is.

The accident happened in the 80-zone not far from Drivstua. The airbags in the cars are deployed.

The E6 was closed in both directions and there was a large queue at the site. The police recommended a detour via Kvikne on national highway 3.

There are long queues at the site in Oppdal. Bilberger has arrived and is in the process of cleaning up.
