Several buildings have caught fire in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, after heavy fighting between the army and rival RSF forces, reports the BBC quoted by rador.

Videos that appeared online on Sunday showed the iconic Greater Nile Petroleum tower engulfed in flames.

“It’s really painful,” Tagreed Abdin, an architect of the building, wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Airstrikes and ground fighting have continued in Khartoum and other cities since fighting broke out in April, and more than a million people have been forced to flee their country, according to the UN.
