Muller’s home was robbed during the Bayern-Barcelona match

The home of Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Tuesday, was robbed during his team’s match against Barcelona in the Champions League, according to German newspaper Bild on Wednesday.

“On Tuesday evening, strangers robbed a house in Utterving and stole money, jewelry and valuables” worth € 500,000, local police said in an anonymous statement.

According to information from Bild, the mansion belongs to Muller, who was playing in the match that ended with his team’s 2-0 victory against former Polish player Robert Lewandowski and his colleagues from the Catalan club.

The events took place around 10 pm local time, with the start of the second half, in Otterving (south of Munich), about forty kilometers from the Allianz Arena.

Police said at least two of the thieves managed to escape when their officers arrived minutes later and, despite extensive searches, the perpetrators were not arrested.
