The SPD parliamentary group in Mülheim (North Rhine-Westphalia) feels snubbed by an embarrassing spelling error on a mourning ribbon it had commissioned. Bakum assumed that it could not be a simple mistake. Rather, he suspects that the SPD’s reputation should be damaged. The text on the funeral ribbon of the SPD council group was the same every year and was sent from the parliamentary group office to the responsible nursery in the correct spelling. This year, however, they commissioned a new ribbon printer in Essen for the first time.

It will now be checked whether the error occurred there and whether it was deliberately caused. In the print shop, the initial letters F and V were confused because the order fax was illegible. “But that doesn’t explain how the entire word could be changed so much,” Bakum continued. (dpa)
