Mukomuko Health Office found one resident positive for DHF

Mukomuko (ANTARA) –

The Health Office of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, said that one local resident had tested positive for dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) from January to February 2022.

“Only one resident was positive for dengue fever during January to February this year because the awareness of local residents to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN) is getting higher,” said the DHF Program Manager at the Mukomuko District Health Office, Bara Lendra in a statement at Mukomuko, Wednesday.

He said this after recapitulating the data on the number of local residents who were positive for dengue hemorrhagic fever from January to February 2022.

The local Health Office receives reports every month regarding local residents who have contracted the dengue disease from the puskesmas in this area and conducts fumigation to prevent the transmission of dengue disease.

He said that one resident who was infected with DHF was from the Bukit Mulya Community Health Center working area, this resident contracted DHF in January 2022, while not in February there were no DHF cases.

Health workers from the local Health Office have carried out fogging or fumigation at the location where cases are found, including conducting epidemiological investigations (PE).

Furthermore, he said his agency continues to appeal to sub-district heads, village heads and village heads to RT and the entire community to prevent the spread of this disease.

He stated that although there were zero cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in January or no positive person for this disease, residents were asked to remain vigilant about this disease.

He advised residents to continue to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN) to prevent the spread of dengue disease during the COVID-19 pandemic but not to involve many people.

“We ask residents in this region to do PSN to prevent the spread of dengue fever but do not let many of them come,” he said.
