Jakarta –
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Jember has issued a fatwa che ‘pargoy’ dance impure. Commission VIII DPR RI TB Deputy Chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily said it depended on how the public viewed it.
“I think this depends on how we see people dancing, now if they dance from a perspective or view that is considered erotic, it depends on how we see it,” Ace said when contacted on Wednesday (11/30/2022).
Ace advised the public to pay more attention to their behavior on social media, especially when it comes to dancing. He admits that he doesn’t mind dancing if the context is fun.
“I think yes, we need to be more careful in emitting various behaviors, the community is related to one of them dancing. Right now, if we look at social media, there are various types of dances shown by the audience, especially that» , She said.
“Of course we also have to look at the context, if the context is just for entertainment, we have to respond proportionately, that’s it. So if the intention is back not to show an attitude of eroticism or pornography, obviously I don’t think we have to issue fatwa excessive,” he added.
Additionally, she advised the public to continue to prioritize ethics on social media. This includes how to dress.
“The point is obviously that we as a nation respect the principle of decency, yes we must prioritize ethics in dress, yes dancing I think is something reasonable, but of course we must prioritize ethics and our way to socialize, get along like that,” he said.
Previously, the Jember Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) banned the “pargoy” dance. The reason is that this dance is considered erotic and creates lust for the opposite sex.
Fatwa on prohibition of pargoy jogging is contained in Jember Regency Tausiah MUI Fatwa Commission Number 02/MUI-Jbr/XI/2022 Concerning “Pargoy” Dance in Jember Regency seen on detik.com, Wed (30/11/2022) .
At a limited meeting of the Jember MUI Fatwa Commission on November 19, 2022, the Jember Regency MUI Fatwa Commission lectured Muslims, especially Jember Regency Muslims, on the pargoy dance phenomenon. One of the points is to ban the pargoy dance.
Below are the 6 points resulting from the Jember MUI Fatwa Commission Restricted Meeting:
1. Call upon the Muslims of the Jember Regency to maintain the Jember Regency as a religious regency.
2. Pay attention to and maintain religious values in daily activities.
3. The law of “Pargoy” dance is HARAM because it contains erotic movements, shows nudity and creates lust for the opposite sex.
4. Dancing “Pargoy” does not reflect Muslims having morals and tarnishes the values of decency, morals and customs especially those that apply to Jember Regency.
5. Appeal to government, policy makers and community leaders to participate and help ‘ban’ the business of dancing ‘Pargoy’.
6. Invite religious and community leaders to lead and direct the community towards positive and ethical activities.
