Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Field of Da’wah Cholil Nafis commented on those who provide space and time for gay couples and broadcast through podcasts on the Youtube site.
According to him, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender groups (LGBT) should not be broadcast until it becomes public consumption.
“Let’s not participate in broadcasting the LGBT couple,” said Cholil on his personal Twitter account @cholilnafis, Monday (9/4). CNNIndonesia.com has been authorized by the person concerned to quote his tweet.
Cholil considers LGBT is an abnormality that must be treated. Not left with the pretext of tolerance.
He explained that the nature of a human being was created by God Almighty in pairs between men and women. Not with other people of the same gender.
“Even though it’s innate, it’s not natural. Humans are normal, men are paired with women and vice versa,” said Cholil.
MUI has also issued Fatwa Number 57 of 2014 concerning Lesbians, Gays, Sodomy, and Obscenity. The essence of the fatwa states that LGBT is haram in Islam.
