Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Intellectual Cadre Muhammadiyah, Abdullah Darraz reveals how the group radical to spread its ideology to the state civil apparatus (ASN) carried out covertly. Including to TNI and Police.

At first, they were taught to recite, then introduced to radical and anti -Pancasila ideology.

“Currently the pattern is infiltration of individuals by being taught the Koran and so on, which is then introduced to their ideology which is contrary to Pancasila,” Darraz was quoted as saying. Between on Thursday (7/10).

Referring to a survey conducted by Alvara Research in 2018, Darraz said there were 19.4 percent of ASN indicated as radical and intolerant. According to Darraz, it is very likely that radical groups also infiltrated the TNI and Polri under cover.

This is not realized by the leadership in the agency until it is too late to handle it. Moreover, Darraz added that the infiltration of radical groups is difficult to identify because the state apparatus is considered to have a strong spirit of nationalism.

“Well, if you’ve been infiltrated, it’s troublesome. Therefore, there must be awareness from the leadership of the agency/institution that this danger is real and exists,” said Darraz, who joined the Task Force for Interfaith Leaders of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT).

Darraz explained the steps that can be taken by agency leaders to prevent the entry of radical and intolerant ideology into the body of the institution through recitations or lectures.

First, realizing that radical and intolerant movements do exist. Then, as soon as possible detect the source of the infiltration.

“Because I myself believe that the approach of the radical group targets individuals by teaching contradictory or polemic things,” said Darraz, an alumnus of the Darul Arqam Islamic Boarding School in Garut.

Finally, Darraz mentioned the need to internalize the values of Pancasila ideology, nationality, diversity, and positive values in Indonesia.

“Indeed, this radical group is actually so massive in infiltrating that it is not realized by the leadership in the agency, so that the handling tends to be late,” said Darraz.
