The artist, Sulaf Fawkherji, also commented on the video, saying: “It is a normal feeling, Muhammad. We are all unable to live, and what happens in Palestine happens. You may lose money, but you gain yourself, and our Lord is the Lord of hearts and He is the Provider.”
While director Maryam Abu Auf wrote on her Facebook account, commenting on what Muhammad Salam did in solidarity with Palestine: “Muhammad Salam is a respectable man,” and artist Sabri Fawaz wrote: “Muhammad Salam is one of the cleanest and purest people you can see in your life.” And everyone loves him.”
Writer Abdel Rahim Kamal also praised Mohamed Salam’s position. He wrote on his Facebook account: “Bravo, the Egyptian artist Mohamed Salam has apologized for traveling to show a comedy show in Riyadh because the circumstances do not allow that. A tribute to a respected Egyptian artist.”
The artist Muhammad Salam published a video of himself, in which he announced his apology for not participating in a play in solidarity with Palestine, explaining that he had hoped that the Riyadh season would be postponed or canceled, or that the situation in the Gaza Strip would calm down, but nothing of the sort happened. He wondered: “How can I show up when this is happening to people in Palestine? If I do this, I will be letting them down.”

He pointed out that his non-participation was only intended to support the Palestinian people and not anything else, adding that he knew very well that art was a message, but the current events were not appropriate for him to participate in presenting comedic works.
