Muhammad Guntur Romli came out PSI because they could not accept the dynamics of PSI getting closer to the Ketum Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto. Regarding this, Gerindra said that it was beyond his control.
“Yes, it is his right to join or leave any party. Whether the reason for this is Pak Prabowo’s arrival at PSI is also beyond our control,” said the chairman of the Gerindra DPP, Habiburokhman when contacted, Saturday (5/8/2023).
Habiburokhman said Guntur was considered a good and intelligent person. He said he could not force people to be happy or not with Prabowo.
“We see Pak Guntur as a good and intelligent person, but we cannot force people to be happy with Pak Prabowo,” he said.
PSI Shocked
PSI was surprised to learn why Guntur Romli left the party. Deputy Chairman of the PSI DPP, Andy Budiman, said Guntur Romli was a close friend. However, Guntur Romli stated that he was no longer active after his candidacy in the 2019 election.
“However, I am surprised that Bro Guntur’s reason for resigning is only because of Pak Prabowo’s arrival at PSI. This is an ordinary friendship like Mba Puan meeting Prabowo. In fact, Pak Prabowo used to be Mrs Mega’s running mate. After all, PSI has not finalized its position on this presidential candidate,” said Andy written press statement, Saturday (5/8/2023).
Andy Budiman tries to understand Guntur’s position as Head of Ganjarian Volunteers. PSI can understand Guntur’s decision.
“Different choices at this time do not keep us apart. He is still our friend. After all, once again, PSI has not made a final decision on which presidential candidate to anchor. There is still an internal mechanism. We follow Pak Jokowi’s statement ‘Ojo Kesusu’,” said Andy Budiman.
Guntur Romli left PSI because he could not accept the dynamics of PSI getting closer to Prabowo Subianto, General Chair of the Gerindra Party, a future presidential candidate in the 2024 elections, as well as the Indonesian Minister of Defense in President Jokowi’s cabinet.
“There are things that disturb my conscience and my idealism with the presence of Prabowo Subianto at the PSI DPP, Wednesday 2 August 2023,” said Guntur Romli.
