Suara.com – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives RI of Corporate Affairs, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar asked the government to optimize hospital services and medical facility (faskes) to deal with the high cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in recent weeks.
“I have reported that dengue cases have increased in recent weeks. Therefore, I ask the government to optimize health services, especially in areas with high dengue cases,” said Muhaimin, in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/8/2022).
He said this, related to data from the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) which showed that until the 30th week of 2022, there were 68,903 cases in 456 districts/cities in 34 provinces, with 640 deaths.
Last week, there were an additional 1,311 cases and there were 13 deaths in a week.

Muhaimin emphasized that the government needs to “fit up” regarding the high number of dengue cases, especially regarding services for dengue tests, the readiness of medical personnel, as well as the need for adequate DHF medicines.
“This is a warning to the government and all of us. DHF should not be ignored, especially since there are similarities in the initial symptoms in DHF patients with Covid-19 patients, so faster and more accurate early detection is needed,” he said.
He also encouraged the Ministry of Health and the Regional Health Office to aggressively carry out efforts to prevent transmission and control the increase in dengue cases.
One of them, according to him, is to re-encourage clean-up activities and do regular spraying (fogging), especially in densely populated areas.
“I also encourage the government to aggressively campaign for a healthy lifestyle in the community, for example through the 3M movement, namely draining water reservoirs, closing water reservoirs, and burying objects that can hold water,” he said.
In addition, Muhaimin reminded the public to increase awareness of dengue virus infection by maintaining personal and environmental hygiene and increasing body immunity.
