Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy straighten the matter of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto who was exposed to Covid-19 at the end of 2020. He denied that this was being covered up from the public.
According to Muhadjir, this condition was not publicly announced. According to him, a person does not need to be famous because of his illness.
“There is information but it is not publicly announced. People don’t have to be famous because they are sick,” Muhadjir told CNNIndonesia.com via short message, Wednesday (20/1).
However, that does not mean that contact tracing is not carried out. Muhadjir admitted that he had communicated with Airlangga several times regarding this matter. Since being tested positive for Covid-19, Airlangga has also immediately informed several parties who had close contact with him.
“(tracing) Yes. Of course my fellow Coordinating Ministers communicate occasionally, “said Muhadjir.
Previously, Airlangga suddenly donated conventional plasma which should only have been done by people who had been exposed to Covid-19 on Monday (18/1).
Meanwhile Airlangga has never declared himself exposed. The issue of the Golkar Party Chairperson being exposed to Covid-19 actually had circulated in the public a few months ago.
However, there was no confirmation from the government, the ministry he led, to Airlangga at that time.
Only later after the implementation of the convalescent plasma donor on Monday, Airlangga admitted that he had been exposed to Covid-19. Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Alia Karenina, in her official statement stated that Airlangga was called positive for Covid-19 at the end of 2020.
The Palace, through the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, admitted that so far they did not know that Airlangga had ever tested positive for Covid-19.
Airlangga himself in this pandemic has a quite crucial and important position in relation to handling it, namely as Chairman of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPC-PEN) which was formed through Presidential Decree 82/2020.
