Mughal Garden, a garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan, has been renamed

New Delhi | Mughal Garden, a garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan, has been renamed Amrit Udyan.
Rashtrapati Bhavan stated that it was decided to change the name of Mughal Garden as a part of completely avoiding the influence of the imperial period and pre-independence occupation.

The decision is part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations. It was named Amrit Udyan to match the name Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

This garden was named Mughal Garden because it was built in a similar manner to the garden built by Emperor Shah Jahan in Kashmir.

This garden was built during the British rule when Rashtrapati Bhavan, North and South Blocks and Parliament were built.

The public will be allowed to enter the garden from January 31 to March 26.
