“Mud Machine” has sought to “destroy Sánchez’s family”: Petro

Madrid. The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, stated this Wednesday that “the mud machine driven by the Spanish extreme right has sought to destroy the family” of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with the aim of “stopping progressive policies.”

Petro, who conveyed his solidarity to the head of government of Spain, stated that “the policy of the right is to destroy people” and compared the situation between both countries: “Here in Colombia, the right, once Franco’s, does the same working with the first progressive government in many decades,” he stated.

“Some naïve people believe that it is centrist to walk next to those who carry a coffin as a threat and shout ‘death to the president’. The mud machine has been triggered in Colombia, only here, in addition, it murders,” said the Colombian leader through his profile on the social network

In this sense, he said that “this machine, well oiled with lies, hatred and money, stops with popular mobilization, with those who want it to advance,” and thus has encouraged the population to participate in the traditional marches of 1 May, when International Workers’ Day is commemorated.

Sánchez announced this Thursday that he is clearing his public agenda to reflect on his continuity at the head of the government after a Madrid court opened investigation proceedings against Begoña Gómez, Sánchez’s wife, for alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in business. following a complaint filed by the Manos Liminas union, linked to the far right.
