Muchová advances to quarterfinals at Grand Slam tournament for fourth time

Muchová will play against the 333rd ranked player, who labored with an injured knee for most of last season, for the fourth time. So far, he has a record of one win and two defeats with the former World XI Pavlyuchenkova.

“She is a very good player, skilled and has a lot of strength. I think it will be a great match. I will have to play my best tennis to match her,” Muchová, who is the last Czech singles participant in the tournament, told reporters.

The native of Olomouc reached the top eight at the Grand Slam for the fourth time, the last time she played in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon two years ago. She advanced to the semifinals of the “big four” tournaments only once – in 2021 at the Australian Open.
