See which subscribers will be affected

Part of Sofia is temporarily without hot water in August. The reason is the planned shutdown of TPP “Sofia East” from 2 to 11 August. It will affect 6,274 subscriber stations.

At the same time, but only for a period of 7 days – from 2 to 9 August, the work of the heating district “Sofia” will be suspended, according to “Toplofikatsiya”.

Nearly half of Toplofikacia Sofia subscribers will pay extra for heating

“We have planned the repair works to start during the most active summer season, when most people are outside Sofia. We have tried to limit the number of affected users as much as possible. Of the approximately 4,400 subscriber stations in the Sofia heating district, 3,800 will remain without heat supply during the repairs. The remaining 600 will be supplied by the neighboring heating plants of the Lyulin and Zemlyane heating districts, commented Eng. Nikolay Nikolov, director of TR “Sofia”.

The suspension of heat supply will affect the neighborhoods that are supplied by TR “Sofia East” and TR “Sofia”. These are Yavorov quarter, Geo Milev quarter, Iztok quarter, Izgrev quarter, Lozenets quarter, residential complex “Dianabad”, residential complex Mladost 1, 1A, 2, 3 and 4, Vitosha quarter, “Druzhba 1 and 2”, a section of the central part of the city, etc.

The prosecutor’s office is checking the prices of electricity and heating

The main reason for the shutdown of TPP “Sofia East” is the need to test the pipeline from the gas distribution station “Kazichene” to the plant in the presence of the Executive Directorate of Technical Supervision / IDTN / to SAMTS.

If a problem is detected during the tests, the heat supply may be delayed. “It may take an additional one to seven or eight days, depending on the extent of the damaged section,” said Sofia East TPP Director Rosen Florov.
