Manchester United arrived at the ‘luck’ in the quarterfinals English League Cup. They met the only remaining non-Premier League team, Charlton Athletic.
The draw for the quarter-final of the English League Cup took place shortly after the end of the game between Manchester City and Liverpool on Friday (23/12/2022) in the early morning WIB. Manchester City are also the last team to secure qualification for the round of 16.
Since that draw, Manchester United have appeared first and will face Charlton Athletic. Charlton are a representative of League One, i.e. the third division of the English league, and are the only club left outside the Premier League.
Manchester City will face Southampton in this round. The match will be played at St Mary’s Stadium.
Nottingham Forest have been drawn to meet Wolverhampton Wanderers. Meanwhile, Newcastle United will take on Leicester City.
The English League Cup quarter-final series of matches will be played on 10 and 11 January.
