MÛ releases her first single “Ritual”

  • Rene’s Bar

  • Tuesday April 19

The brothers Simón and Benjamín González, members of MÛ, could say that the most logical path in their lives was to become musicians and form a band. This is because they are the grandchildren of the late Carlos González, former director of the Viña del Mar Festival Orchestra, producer for RCA and mastermind behind Buddy Richard’s hits, among other New Wave singers. They are also the offspring of Carlos González Jr., bassist of the Argentine musician Charly García.

Simón (vocals, guitars and keyboard), Benjamín (drums and backing vocals) and Felipe “Gansito” Silva (keyboards, bass and backing vocals) are working on their debut album and on the release of their first single “Ritual”, soon to be released in Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music and TIDAL, among other platforms. “We are very excited to share what we have been developing in the studio together with our great friend Franco Gabelo”, indicates Simón.

The vocalist details that MÛ is the result and the synthesis of all the music they have heard and played, as well as the desire to translate these influences into an original proposal and their own. “The main characteristic is the communion between the old and the new, trying to rescue the elements that allow us to communicate a more refreshing discourse, always looking for sounds that complement and enrich the music we are making”, specifies the MÛ vocalist.

He adds that “the decision to put together an original project with my brother is strengthened in the midst of a pandemic, when we met again after an important operation on my mother as a result of a complex cancer. Somehow finding ourselves in quarantine, pandemic, economic recessions, vital risks, etc., made us want to do something that would take us back to the good and calm times before. We locked ourselves up to play and make demos of what would be the foundations of this project. Fortunately, things have improved since then, and we’ve already recorded the first single and played live”.

*For this gig we have the support of SalaMacul Media, who will make an audiovisual record of the presentation.
