Manchester United still working on breaking the curse of the semifinals. ‘Red Devils’ still have one chance to make it happen this season.
Manchester United have run aground in one semifinal this season. They lost to Manchester City in the Premier League Cup in January.
The squad made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer it’s got another chance at Europa League, where will face AS Roma in two legs. This is a chance for Paul Pogba et al to break the curse of the semifinals.
For the record, last season MU reached the final three times and was entirely impregnable. They were beaten by Manchester City in the Premier League Cup, then by Chelsea in the FA Cup, and by Sevilla in the Europa League.
Those experiences were a bitter pill for MU, which Solskjaer believed had made the players feel enough.
“We’ve had the experience of those defeats. When you lose, it’s never easy and difficult to handle your setbacks,” Solskjaer told reporters. Sky Sports.
“Last season we finished the season with a semi-final achievement against Sevilla and we feel very slumped into the holiday season with the last memory being defeat,” he added.
