Following last year’s ceremony in Newark, New Jersey, the MTV VMAs 2024 returned to New York’s UBS Arena. Hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, the awards honored musical excellence at a gala that included performances by Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Lenny Kravitz and Katy Perry. Taylor Swift came into the gala leading the nominations with 12 to her name (she ultimately took home 7 awards, including Best Video of the Year)with Post Malone hot on his heels with eight nominations and Eminem, with eight, in third place in the ranking. Meanwhile, Carpenter, Megan Thee Stallion and Ariana Grande attended with seven nominations. Perry received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her contributions to the category throughout her career.
