Allianz MTV Stuttgart against SC Potsdam dominant
The Stuttgart women showed a very concentrated performance in the fifth game of the final series. In the first two sets they pulled away early and won them confidently. The women from Potsdam started the third set better and were in the lead for a long time. Only at 15:15 did coach Tore Aleksandersen’s team equalize with four points in a row. The momentum was now back on the side of MTV, which could not snatch the victory and the title win associated with it. Krystal Rivers converted the match point to 3:0. Another decisive factor was Simone Lee’s strong attacking performance, who also received the championship trophy.
Exciting and balanced final series
The dream of the Stuttgart women of the double almost burst in the fourth game of the final series. In the tie-break, SC Potsdam was about to win 3-2, which would have meant winning the title. However, the Stuttgart women kept their nerves, fended off two match balls and turned the game around. The Stuttgart women had lost the first and third game of the final series at home, they won game two in Potsdam. And with the victory on Sunday evening in the fifth game, the MTV women won the series 3: 2 and celebrated their second championship title after 2019 with the home fans.
