The MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) were actually supposed to take place in Paris at the beginning of November. Megastars like Jungkook from BTS, The Kid Laroi and Sabrina Carpenter were expected, among other things. But now the organizers have canceled the music event at short notice.
The reason for this is security concerns that currently exist due to the war between Israel and Palestine.

Every year, fans and music enthusiasts look forward to one of the biggest live shows in Europe: the MTV Europe Music Awards. The best and most talented artists from the music business are honored there every year. This year the show would be on 5. November in Paris with hot acts like Jungkook from BTS, Sabrina Carpenter, Thirty Seconds To Mars and The Kid Laroi. But now the surprise: the EMAs are officially canceled. The organizers justify this decision with the current uncertainty in the world.
The organizers explained in a statement Instagram: “Given the volatility of world events, we have decided not to hold the MTV EMAs in 2023 – out of an abundance of caution for the thousands of staff, crew, artists, fans and partners who travel from every corner of the world to bring the show to life.”

The decision to cancel the music awards ceremony comes in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. You can still vote and the winners will receive their prize. The next EMAs will be then probably not until November 2024 take place. It is the first time since the show began in 1994 that the awards show has been canceled entirely. The event even took place during the Corona pandemic – although without a live audience at the time.
