The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has announced the renovation of 14 stations of the New York City train system as part of the Re-NEW-Vation program.
But these works will also include scheduled service cuts on different lines on weekends. They will be aesthetic changes, according to the MTA, as well as functional and not major structural changes.
Among some of the stations that will experience these changes are:
Lexington Ave. and 59th Street
Junction Blvd. line 7
And Atlantic Ave. line L among others….

Reportedly, 37 stations have already been upgraded to date and the plan is to complete 50 stations by the end of 2023.
Changes being made include the installation of LED lighting services to illuminate dark areas as well as dangerous areas. Also the renovation of the facilities and service booths where MTA employees serve users.
