MTA Bus Collision in Brooklyn Injures 17; Driver Suspected of Wrong-Way Driving

NEW YORK — A car collided with an MTA bus in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, injuring at least 17 people, according to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).

The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., near the intersection of Livonia Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Once on scene, officials found the scene of a car accident involving three vehicles, including an MTA bus.

A lone driver was heading in the opposite direction (southbound in northbound lanes) on Pennsylvania Avenue, according to police officials. The driver crashed into another car before crashing into an MTA bus with customers on board.

The 17 injured people suffered minor injuries. Of the 17 injured, 11 people were taken to local hospitals.

The suspected driver is currently at a local hospital awaiting a toxicology report, according to authorities.
