Thirteen people were injured after an MTA bus and a Department of Sanitation (DSNY) truck collided last night in the Bronx (NYC).
The accident occurred around 9:10 pm along Bruckner Boulevard and Hunts Point Avenue, in the vecindario Longwood. Eight victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital and five to St. Barnabas, all with minor injuries, he said. ABC News. It is not clear if drivers or pedestrians were among those injured or if they were all passengers on the bus.
Bx5 and Bx6 buses in both directions were delayed for several hours due to NYPD activity.

The garbage truck driver crashed head-on into the bus before crashing into a concrete barrier, he said. CBS News. The investigation is ongoing into the cause of the collision. No arrests have been announced.
This semester several MTA buses have been involved in accidents throughout the city, including at least three fatalities.
There have also been homicides on board: in October a 13-year-old boy was stabbed to death by a 14-year-old boy while leaving school inside an MTA bus in Staten Island.
