“MTA Announces Long Island Rail Road Renovation Plan with New Schedules in Place”

The MTA announces that the Long Island Rail Road will undergo a renovation plan and infrastructure improvements.

The works include rail replacements between the Atlantic Terminal and East New York stations in Brooklyn, and on the Montauk route between Amityville and Babylon.

The transit agency has projected new schedules to accommodate the jobs. They will go into effect on Monday, May 22 and will last until Monday, September 4, Labor Day.

This schedule will affect train departure times during off-peak periods of midday Monday through Friday on the Babylon route between Atlantic Terminal and East New York, and weekday nights on the Montauk route between Babylon and Sayville.
