NEW YORK — The MTA announced Tuesday morning that L trains are experiencing delays in service in both directions between Manhattan and Brooklyn due to a police investigation.
Before that, there was no service for a while, after a 12-year-old boy tripped and fell onto the northbound tracks in Metropolitan Avenue, the police said. It happened when the train was entering the station and rolled under the platform overhang, avoiding contact with the train.
The minor was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Service was restored on the L line before 10 a.m. with persistent delays.
Train users are advised to use the A, C or J trains as alternatives.
