Starting today and for the next three months, subway users heading south to Brooklyn will find service changes.
This is due to the works being carried out by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to protect its infrastructure against future storms.
Line D will not operate between Bay 50 Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue stations.
This is so the MTA can strengthen the infrastructure of the Coney Island Complex, which is one of the largest express transit depots in North America.
The goal is to protect the area from storm surges. New retaining walls, gates, drains and pumping stations will be added.
Users will find free buses during closing.
You can also continue to reach the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue stop without interruption by taking lines N, Q and F.
Service is expected to return to normal by January 3.
