Three months of changes in subway service is what awaits users of Line D, south of Brooklyn.
This, because the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will make repairs to make the road more resistant to storms and floods.
Subway line D service between Bay 50th Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue stations will be suspended between September 18 and January 3.
Passengers will be able to take the connecting buses (shuttle) free between both stops while the works last.
The suspension will give way to reinforcement work on the Coney Island complex, one of the largest public transportation depots in the country.
The works include the construction of flood walls, channel walls, drainage and water pumping stations.
The objective is that the place can withstand storms of the level of Hurricane Sandy.
