◇ To tears of joy, tears of pain
Residents in the northwestern region also greatly welcome the decision to cite the Central Administrative Appeals Committee.
Jeong Jun-hwa, chairman of the eco-friendly Seoraksan Osaek Cable Car Promotion Committee, said, “I am deeply grateful for making a wise decision first.
The eco-friendly Seoraksan Osaek Cable Car Promotion Committee, made up of residents of the northwestern region, has held several meetings in business and business, and has continued a street struggle for the promotion of the five-sack cable car installation project.
The Osaek Cable Car project, which lays a 3.5km-long cableway from Osaek-ri in Seomyeon, Yangyang to the tip of Seoraksan (1480m above sea level), started 38 years ago, in 1982, with a request to install the second cable car in Seoraksan Mountain in Gangwon-do. At that time, it was presented as a task in the field of tourism services, and it was in full swing.
However, it was stopped again when the Wonju Regional Environmental Office requested Yangyang-gun to supplement the environmental impact assessment report in November 2016.
Yangyang-gun supplemented it and resubmitted the environmental impact assessment in May of last year, but the Wonju Regional Environmental Office made a decision on the environmental impact assessment in September of the same year, and the project was suddenly stopped.
Chairman Chung said, “I have been in tears because I have been unfair, but now I will see the future,” and said, “I will play a role in preparing a plan to minimize environmental damage that is concerned through communication with environmental organizations.”
