The tape tells about the beginning of a full-scale war, in particular, the attack of the Russian army on Mariupol on February 24, 2022. The film documents the events of 20 days in the city during February-March of last year, including the bombing of the residential sector, the maternity hospital, the life of people in the besieged city, constant shelling, etc.
Previously, Chernov’s film won the national competition “DOCU / Ukraine” of the 20th International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival Docudays UA.
The picture has awards from the Cleveland International Film Festival (USA), DocAviv (Israel), DocEdge (New Zealand), Cinema for Peace (Germany), Royal Television Society (UK), a special Tim Hetherington Award at the Sheffield DocFest 2023 documentary film festival in Great Britain.
The world premiere of the film took place at the Sundance independent film festival in the USA, where the film received the prize of audience sympathy.
