“MSP Raising Awareness for Important Flu Vaccination, Urges Children to be Prioritized”

The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) begins to raise awareness about the importance of flu vaccination, which he estimates to start in the second half of April, according to what Minister Karina Rando had advanced. As a result, Álvaro Galiana, director of the Pereira Rossell Pediatric Hospital, assured that children should be the first to be inoculated.

“We know that dissemination among children is what brings the disease to families, to grandparents, and to people who have comorbidities,” he explained. Galiana in dialogue with Telemundo (Channel 12).

In turn, he stressed that children who were never immunized against the flu will have to “receive one dose and the next month another” to then only be inoculated once a year against this disease.

Year after year, the flu vaccination campaign is carried out free of charge and is carried out in public and private vaccination posts throughout the country without a prior schedule.

To receive the flu vaccine, all you have to do is present your identity card or passport. In the case of children and pregnant women, it is requested that they attend with the vaccination card to verify if they have all the doses of the certified vaccination schedule up to date, and if not, receive the corresponding vaccine in addition to the flu vaccine.
