MSP convenes Vaccine Advisory Commission to look into covid revaccination in 2023

Public Health Minister Daniel Salinas said the indication would involve “a major bibliographic review” and “what kind of vaccine” would be the one recommended by the advisers.

“We will follow what the technicians and scientists decide, and we will support them from a political point of view”, said the leader, underlining the importance of using scientific criteria.

When asked if there will be a vaccination campaign in 2023, Salinas replied: “I don’t want to get ahead of myself, because if you don’t condition the scientists. But basically one would think that if it behaved like a flu virus it might be necessary. It is an alternative that they will decide”.

Salinas said the pandemic is controlled with four ICU patients, which represents 0.4% of ICU beds with people with or due to covid. “Community circulation is very low today, but we do not exclude that it could increase in the summer”, said the minister, who highlighted the advantage of carrying out outdoor activities.
