MSI Introduces World’s First 16-Gbps GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Video Memory

The memory frequency of video cards can pretty much affect the performance, because the bandwidth of this subsystem depends on it. We have already seen accelerators with GDDR6 memory with a frequency of 1850 MHz (bandwidth 14.8 Gbit / s) and even 1936 MHz (15.5 Gbit / s). But now MSI has introduced the first and so far the only video card in the world with 2000-MHz memory (16 Gb / s).

A unique novelty was the graphics accelerator MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Z Trio. Unfortunately, the Taiwanese manufacturer does not specify whether he used memory chips with a nominal frequency of 2000 MHz in the new product, or simply overclocked the publicly available 1750-MHz chips. In the first case, this would make the video card the first publicly available product with a new faster memory, but the second option is still more likely.

In terms of other characteristics, the new product is no different from the previously released GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio. The Turing TU102 GPU with 4352 CUDA cores is overclocked here to 1755 MHz in Boost mode. By the way, it is 15 MHz lower than the frequency of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z – the most advanced version of the RTX 2080 Ti from MSI. The new video card is equipped with a massive cooling system with three fans and RGB-backlight.

Unfortunately, MSI has not yet announced the price of the unique GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Z Trio video card, nor the dates for its sale.
