I play a lot of different types of games, my favorite are 3rd person (currently working on Horizon Zero Dawn), but I also play enough fps, mmos, simulation ..
Just depending on what comes out.

I actually find extra buttons useful for all types of games, eg for weapon switching, crouch, grenade etc. so that you never have to leave wax with your hand.
(otherwise your thumb on the mouse doesn’t do much, so you can use it for that.)
And if a game only needs left and right, it’s easy enough to turn them off too.
(I have the Logitech g700s myself, I’ve been using it for about 2 years now.)

Of course, it’s also a big part of personal preference.
For example, I can not handle controllers at all, then I constantly get confused which button is where .. I can imagine that the same is true for some with the mouse especially if you are not used to it.

I prefer to spend a bit more on mouse and keyboard because you are constantly “working” on them.
If you need fewer buttons, I would still add that 20 euros and, for example, buy the mx518 from logitech instead of this msi, I have good memories of the original of it.
