The option to work at the IOC is being considered. However, it is not about the position of the president – Wirtualna Polska tells unofficially, citing its sources in the Presidential Palace. So what is the situation?
– The President (…) would like to be a member of the Committee after the end of his term, says a person close to the head of state. The portal’s interlocutor also says that the support of a “powerful player” in the IOC, such as the United States, is needed to make this possible. For this reason, Andrzej Duda is now “playing” for the re-election of Donald Trump, who – as the WP informant emphasizes – would support his efforts.
However, Russia can stand in the way of the implementation of Andrzej Duda’s plan, as it has the ability to block his application. And here the president sees action for another leader.
– So we need someone to contact Putin and dissuade him from this idea. The President of Poland has someone like that. This is the leader of China Xi Jinping, with whom he has a very good relationship. And who has not forgotten that President Duda is the only head of state from the European Union who participated in the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing – explains a person from the Presidential Palace.
In his opinion, Andrzej Duda’s candidacy can count on the support of Donald Tusk’s government. Where does this belief come from? For the Prime Minister, it will be an opportunity for the President to disappear from Polish politics. – He will not create obstacles for Duda – says WP interlocutor.

Remember that Aleksander Kwaśniewski’s words about Duda’s prosecution plans reached Russia and met with a strong response. The head of the Russian Rowing Federation, Yevgeny Archipov, mentioned them in an interview with the Russian sports channel Match TV.

Arkhipov confirmed, for Russia, that every change in international sports structures is a hope for the better. – But we cannot expect a positive attitude towards Russia from this Polish candidate for the head of the IOC – he said.
