The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that 13 gang members from the MS13 criminal structure face trial in public after being accused of 2 aggravated homicides, 3 cases of extortion and terrorist organizations.
According to FGR investigations, in September 2019 these individuals murdered two victims because they did not comply with the gang’s rules.
In the cases of those prosecuted for extortion, the gang members demanded $70 and $100 a month from people in exchange for allowing them to work in the area and not make any attempts on their lives.
According to the data, these crimes were committed on the Isla de Méndez in the Puerto El Triunfo district, in Usulután Oeste and in the San Jorge district, in San Miguel Oeste.
