Holland Norway Lines will no longer sail from Eemshaven to Kristiansand in Norway. The shipping company has been declared bankrupt by the court, the curator confirms RTV North.
From 2022 to last April, the MS Romantika, the ship of the scheduled service, still sailed from Groningen’s Eemshaven. There were frequent problems with mooring, forcing the shipping company to look for a new port.
According to the shipping company, the departure from Eemshaven led to many cancellations and fewer bookings. However, the company hoped to return to Groningen one day. From June the ship was in Emden, Germany.
Shipping company Holland Norway Lines (HNL) already applied for a postponement of payment last Wednesday. Since then, the ferry service to Kristiansand has been suspended.
Alternative return journey
People who still have a ticket for a crossing with the MS Romantika have most likely lost their money, the broadcaster writes.
Travelers in Norway must take alternative transport home.
