Ms. Marvel episode 2: the problems during “Captain America: Civil War” persist

Tensions reigned within the population since the film “Civil War” dedicated to Captain America. They are still felt in the second episode of Ms. Marvel.

The Avengers had caused significant damage, even several casualties, during one of their battle against a mercenary from Hydra. The repercussions had reached several people among the civilians. Although the problem was pushed aside with the war against Thanos, the opinion of the people has not changed.

A brief reminder of the events of Civil War

A former friend of Captain America, Brock Rumlow, reappears in Niger, in Lagos. He was at the head of a team of commandos. They were trying to ransack an infectious disease institute. During the battle, Wanda Romanoff tried unsuccessfully to limit the damage from a bomb carried by this team leader. However, she loses control and the explosion ends up ravaging a building, causing countless deaths. This is how a woman related to one of the victims comes to remind them of their responsibility. This situation does not fail to arouse enormous tension among the citizens whom they are trying to defend at the risk of their lives. Some even come to have a particular hatred for them.

What happens in the second episode of Ms Marvel?

Ms. Marvel episode 2 spoiler warning. The AvengerCon takes place, as usual. Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, being an avid superhero fan, she attends. Although the event aims to pay tribute to these great defenders, popular opinion is clearly not unanimous on this point. This is particularly the case of Yasmeen Fletcher in the role of Nakia Bahadir. She seems to think that much like the circumstances in Civil War, the MCU’s would-be vigilantes keep on and on fixing problems they themselves caused.

She also calls Ms Marvel “Captain Marvel out of cardboard.” His remarks apparently agree with those made by the relatives of the collateral victims of this battle in Lagos. Trust in the Avengers remained too wavering. This is why Thaddeus Ross, the United States Secretary of State, had at the time put in place restriction protocols vis-à-vis their heroic acts.

History repeats itself, therefore, so that the superheroes could have to live other dark hours, facing the authorities…
