Become a coordinator
As a coordinator you are indispensable for the collection. The collection week cannot continue without a coordinator. As a coordinator you maintain contact with the collectors in your place, you order and distribute the collection materials and you take care of the financial and administrative settlement of the proceeds. You can organize the collection together with an assistant coordinator. It’s a social, dynamic volunteer position that can help you make a big difference in the fight against MS. The work will take place from mid-April to July.
MS is nerve-wracking
MS is a disease of the central nervous system. Because something is wrong in the immune system, the layer around the nerves is attacked and damaged. As a result, signals to and from the brain do not (properly) pass through, causing paralysis and failure symptoms. In the Netherlands, 25,000 people have MS and about 1,000 more are added every year. The first symptoms usually appear between the ages of 20 and 40. That makes MS the most debilitating disease among young people. Researchers do not know how MS develops or how the disease can be cured. The National MS Fund finances scientific research into solutions for MS, a better quality of life and better care for people with MS.
