Using the patriotism of Bulgarians to gain a personal rating is mean, said the BSP leader
“Mr. President, stop speculating on the topic of Macedonia,” BSP leader, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Cornelia Ninova wrote on Facebook.
And he continued:
“You call on the government to dispel any doubts that it can lift the veto over the PCM. You raise doubts. The cabinet has repeatedly said: We will not lift the veto. The only body that can rule is the parliament.
During the week, the Council of Ministers adopted an unequivocal decision: Any proposal from Brussels should be sent to the National Assembly and it should decide. Many ask why the National Assembly?
Well, the answer is simple: because the National Assembly has ratified the agreement with the Republic of Northern Macedonia. No other body may change the terms of this contract.
Because in the parliamentary republic the National Assembly is the highest body. Because everything in it is public and transparent, and because there the rulers, the opposition and the society can get acquainted with the real facts and no one can manipulate them.
Mr. President, do you want the Borissov model to return, when he made individual decisions and for him the parliament was nothing?
Others suggest: why bypass the President’s National Security Advisory Council? No one is around him. But he only gives consultations, while the decisions of the National Assembly have the force of law and are binding. And whoever violates them is responsible. That is why we want him to be in the National Assembly.
As long as you have deceived the Bulgarians. We will not betray the Bulgarian national interest. I ask those who claimed that on May 24, during our visit to Rome, we will let Macedonia go: Where are you? May 24 passed. I ask those who claim that we will release Macedonia by the end of the French Presidency in June:
If we say to the European Council next week – No, will you come out to apologize for lying?
To use the true patriotic feeling of the Bulgarians in order to do political PR and gain a personal rating is meanness.
And Mr. President, when you tell politicians to do this, they politicians do not do that, remember that you are also a politician, and one of the first in the country.
