Mr. Machfud Will Become Mayor of Surabaya “Next Level”

SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com – The pair of candidates for mayor and deputy mayor, Machfud Arifin-Mudjiaman, register at the General Election Commission (KPU) office Surabaya, on Sunday (6/9/2020) afternoon.

The pair was released by the son of former BUMN Minister Dahlan Iskan. Azrul Ananda. Machfud Arifin-Mudjiaman was promoted by eight political parties.

Before leaving for the KPU, the couple gathered at the Surabaya Town Square Building.

“Pak Machfud will be the mayor of Surabaya next level, “said Azrul who is also President of the Persebaya Surabaya team at the location on Sunday.

Azrul was proposed by the Nasdem Party to accompany Machfud Arifin as a candidate for deputy mayor.

However, Azrul refused the offer. Machfud Arifin also chose former President Director of PDAM Surabaya Mudjiaman as a candidate for deputy mayor.

Machfud Arifin-Mudjiaman made a pilgrimage to the tomb of Sunan Bungkul in Taman Bungkul Surabaya. The couple then gathered with hundreds of supporters and sympathizers at Surabaya Town Square.

After that, they walked to the Surabaya KPU office which is about 200 meters away.

The pair supported by PKS, PKB, PPP, Nasdem Party, Golkar Party, Democratic Party, PAN and Gerindra will fight with Eri Cahyadi-Armuji.

Eri Cahyadi-Armuji was supported by PDI-Perjuangan and PSI. They have registered with the KPU on Friday (4/9/2020).
