K.Bryant, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people, died in January 2020 when he traveled to a basketball tournament in a private helicopter. In bad weather, the take-off helicopter crashed near Los Angeles.
Bryant, 39, told the court he had approached the Los Angeles County Sheriff to make sure no one was photographing the victims at the scene. The court documents record the words of V. Bryant that the sheriff has confirmed that the place of the disaster is safe, writes The Guardian.
Bryant went to court, accusing the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department of violating privacy, causing emotional pain caused by medical personnel working at the scene of the disaster. The latter took photos and shared photos of the victims.
Ms Bryant told the court that she was first notified of the disaster by an assistant, but at the time she was informed that five people had survived the disaster. Ms Bryant said she thought her husband and children were among the survivors.
“I held the phone because I was trying to contact my husband. Suddenly, messages with the words “RIP Kobe” jumped on the phone screen, “Bryant said. “My life will no longer be the same without a husband and daughter.”
The death of family members was confirmed by Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who immediately asked if he could help.
“I said,‘ If you can’t bring back my husband and my little one, please make sure no one takes them. Please protect the area. “And he said,” I will. ” Then I said, “No, I want you to pick up the phone now and make sure the place is safe right away,” Bryant said of the conversation with the sheriff.
She added that Villanueva later contacted her and confirmed that she had taken care of everything.
However, on the same day, photos with the deceased K. Bryant and his daughter and other persons appeared in public.
Bryant’s lawsuit alleges that the first people to arrive at the scene – including firefighters and sheriff’s deputies – shared photos of K. Bryant’s body with a single bartender and sent “cruel photographs of dead children, parents and coaches.”
