MPU Aceh Urges Public to Avoid Pro-Israel Products in Ramadan Hampers

SERAMBINEWS.COM, BANDA ACEH – The Aceh Ulema Consultative Council (MPU) asks the public to remain critical and careful in choosing products to use. hampers Ramadan as well hampers for Eid.

Especially for products that are affiliated either directly or indirectly with Israel, MPU Aceh urges the public to continue to avoid buying these products.

Advice not to buy pro-Israel products as hampers This Ramadhan is in line with the appeal from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) regarding the existence of hampers ahead of Ramadan 1445 H which is also produced by pro-Israel producers.

The appeal also refers to the previous fatwa issued by the MUI Fatwa Commission, namely Fatwa Number 83 of 2023 concerning the Law on Support for the Palestinian Struggle.

For this reason, the Central MUI reminds people who want to buy hampers to choose halal products and have no direct or indirect affiliation with Israel.

Chairman of the Aceh MPU, Tgk. H. Faisal Ali also asked the people of Aceh to follow the advice from the Central MUI.

In addition, said TgK Faisal, in choosing hampers During Ramadhan, the community must also prioritize halal products.

“The MPU is in line with the Central MUI’s appeal. The people of Aceh are asked to prioritize halal products,” said Tgk Faisal Ali when contacted Serambinews.comThursday (29/2/2024).

The Aceh MPU Chairman further explained that products that are categorized as halal are not only seen from their components or manufacturing process.

But it is also seen based on the use and utilization of the goods, as well as transactions resulting from sales.

Everything must also be ensured in accordance with the Shari’a or Islamic religious teachings.

“It should be noted, there are also (products) that are haram for transactions, even though the goods are halal. Why are transactions haram? Because the use of the goods purchased is in a place that is prohibited by religion, or the proceeds from the sale are also used for something that is prohibited by religion,” explained the ulama who familiarly called Abu Sibreh.

“(For example) to kill people, like what Israel does to Palestinians,” he continued.
