It is well known that Baudet mainly uses parliament as a cheap studio for party propaganda. The chairman of the FvD group, which has almost halved, announced with the usual boast that he wants a debate on the G7 summit that was held this weekend. Other MPs pointed out to him that there will be plenty of opportunity for this tomorrow, because there will be a committee debate on the Foreign Affairs Council. SP MP Renske Leijten congratulates him: “Actually, things never go that fast, does it when you request a debate and it is already there the next day.” Baudet, who as usual looks as if he sees water burning while he is looking for an answer, calls the committee debate “a back room”. The MPs point out to him that he almost always turns his nose up at such work by the parliament. As a result, he often wants to hold debates or ask questions about issues that have been discussed widely for a long time.
Caroline van der Plas of BBB notes that she is completely ready to figure in the propaganda of FvD. Baudet often makes impossible requests so that he can give the impression to his loyal followers that he is the only one fighting for a subject. Renske Leijten summarized the parliamentary handiwork of the winger succinctly: “All Mr Baudet does is request a debate, cut a film and start drinking rosé again.”
