The Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Impunity (FECI) has presented a request for the withdrawal of the president’s right to pretrial on TSEBlanca Alfaro.
The preliminary information is that the request for the withdrawal of immunity is for the crimes of obstruction of criminal action and breach of duties.

The head of the FECI, Rafael Curruchiche, has announced that Alfaro is accused of hindering criminal action, for opposing the withdrawal of electoral boxes. This is referring to the raid carried out at the TSE headquarters, where the Public Ministry (MP) seized electoral material, on September 30.
Regarding the breach of duties, the prosecution argues that the president of the TSE would have entered data into the computer system on June 25, starting at 7 in the morning. It is worth mentioning that on that date the first round of elections was held.
Curruchiche has also stated that Alfaro would have delivered blank minutes to members of voting tables. According to the prosecutor, the intention of those sheets was so that minutes could be created with the data that she would have entered.
Again the @MPguatemala attempts to violate the country’s highest electoral authority with another legal persecution.

TSE reaction
The head of the FECI has reported that he is still analyzing whether to present a request to withdraw the pretrial against the other magistrates. A statement has been requested from Judge Alfaro regarding the request to withdraw immunity. However, it has been reported that there is no position yet.
However, the official TSE account in X has published:
“Once again the @MPguatemala tries to violate the highest electoral authority in the country, with another illegal persecution.”
The MP’s action comes after questions from international organizations and governments about the actions of the prosecutor’s office, which, according to them, seek to undermine democracy. Furthermore, they assure that they seek to violate the democratic decision of the population, expressed through voting.
