Kacper Stokowski (KU AZS UMCS Lublin) and Ksawery Masiuk (UKS G-8 Bielany Warszawa) took first place ex aequo in the 100 m backstroke finals, during the second day of the Polish Swimming Championships in Olsztyn.
In the morning qualifying session, Stokowski with a time of 53.82 – as the seventh Polish competitor – obtained the minimum required for the July World Championships in Japan. In the final race he sailed even faster, finishing together with Masiuk. Both gold medalists achieved a time of 53.74.
Adela Piskorska (AZS UMCS Lublin) triumphed in the women’s 100m backstroke final with a personal score of 59.76. Masiuk and Piskorska had already qualified for the World Championships.
The Main Championships of Poland for Seniors and Youth played at the 50-meter swimming pool of the Olsztyn Aquasfera will last until Saturday.
AZS AWF Katowice leads the medal classification at the halfway point of the competition – the representatives of this club have so far won 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
