MP Gundogan continues to oppose departure from Volt faction

Volt MP Nilüfer Gündogan will attend the meeting of the House of Representatives faction tomorrow to oppose her forced departure. Last Friday, the party announced that it would expel Gundogan from the group and be expelled as a party member. The Member of Parliament has now responded to this with a statement on Twitter.

Gundogan was also expelled from the group last month after reports of transgressive behavior were received. Thirteen reports have been reported, ranging from physical assault and unwanted sexual advances to intimidation and abuse of her position.

Declarations

A judge then ruled that Gundogan should not have been expelled from the faction, because Volt had not followed the correct procedures. So the MP had to return to the group from the judge.

That was against the wishes of the other two party members, party leader Laurens Dassen and Marieke Koekkoek, especially when it turned out that Gündogan did not want to withdraw her declaration of defamation and slander against the reporters, the party board and her party members.

A goal in mind

Before the weekend, the party announced that the three-man faction will vote tomorrow on ending Gundogan’s party membership. Until now it was unknown whether Gündogan himself would be there. In her statement, she writes that Volt “only has one goal in mind: not to carry out the judge’s sentence”.

Earlier, Gündogan had already indicated that he wanted her Chamber seat anyway preserve† According to the Volt board, she can no longer be a member of the party in that case. That would mean that she will be expelled as of March 28, if the faction agrees to her departure, the board reported earlier. A board meeting is scheduled for that day.
