In the program “Face to Face” on BTV, the MP from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria” Georgi Ganev said that he supports the Minister of Finance Asen Vasilev for a 3% budget deficit in the prepared Budget 2023.
This number is recorded in the Bulgarian law on public finances, he added.
Ganev assured that with a 3% budget deficit in Budget 2023, social payments, such as salaries and pensions, will not suffer.
At the moment, there is no noticeable increase in unemployment and a slowdown in wage growth. With the 2022 extended budget extension passed from July 1, pensions will be increased and no retiree will receive anything other than what they know they should receive. The same applies to teachers’ salaries and to other salaries in the public sector, explained the MP from PP-DB.
According to him, the revenue collection in the treasury is slightly less than last year. This is explainable because some rates have changed, pointed out Georgi Ganev.
From the moment it appeared that there was a possibility that this government would be accepted, the Bulgarian index on the stock exchange realized a 10-point increase for several days in a row. At the end of May, when it was clear that there would be a government, the National Statistics Institute announced a rise in almost all indicators. That is, the business perceives what is happening quite positively, Ganev also said.
